Some promo art for DRIVEN \ o / featured here is one of my favorite characters from the series: Maurice Alkayev, who is from Nemchinovka, Russia (know something about it? Go here : D). Some know him from his appearance in Quasi Quest, though in DRIVEN he's much younger.

He's a bit sporadic in his emotions; he can go back and forth very quickly between extremes, but he's aware of it and sometimes does it on purpose. He's got an awful lot of self-confidence, and constantly looks toward the future for the fulfillment of his ambitions, citing them regularly.

I really enjoyed painting this \ o / I threw it together in three and a half Illustrator classes (It's like three weeks in but I've already finished the curriculum of the course, even with taking last week off before I finished the last chapter, so... I just paint in Photoshop the whole time), then did some final touchups at home. I'm surprisingly happy with it.

Dear god what a fantastic background. I'm actually getting a little jealous of how nicely you painted this urban scene. The entire picture breathes lovely evening town atmosphere. Everything--ranging from the lighting to the perspective--is absolutely gorgeous.
