Personality:

If there is nothing else needing to be known, it is that this man is an all-out performer. Upon entering a room, he can demand attention (especially with that costume of his), and he has a very loud, yet gentle voice with a large amount of fluid personality in it. He absolutely loves to dance, and will break out into performance from even the slightest hint of a rhythm (a concept he finds himself utterly obsessed with). A very friendly individual, he does his best to cheer up anyone in need, and will commonly try to get them to dance with him as a result.

Although, when he isn’t doing something fabulous, he can be extremely awkward; Del is absolutely awful in casual situations. He calls it a “lack of knowledge of casual life,” and he tends to be very innocent and unknowing to certain simple situations (such as, previously, building a sand castle), though he's gotten better recently.

However, there have been hints as to the fact that his colorful personality is not his real one. If one is to catch him off-guard (such as waking him up abruptly) or if he is in a particularly negative mood, one will find that he is... Not as he always seems.

History:

Very quiet about his background, he prefers to direct people's focus on him more toward his future, leading many things about him to remain unanswered. It is known, though, that he was born in Slateport, Hoenn, and ended up in Alto Mare living with his cousin and uncle around the age of six, where he remained for a good many years afterward. Around the age of 25, he moved to the city to pursue dance, and six months later landed a job on Poyi. What happened in the years between, though, is still largely unknown.

Since arriving in Poyi, things have been quite well for him--his career took off, some of the friends he had made had gone with him, and he's finally begun to adjust to what he considers to be "casual society", finding that he's settled down and finally matured some, letting go of things from the past and instead enjoying the prospects of the happier future that he's made for himself.

Speech Patterns:

Del has a fairly peculiar way of speaking, which is mainly made apparent by the fact that he replaces “I” and “me” with the term “This one.” He also tends to use fairly flowery language and unusual grammar in a means almost similar to speaking backwards, sometimes to the point where his english becomes broken. He basically makes everything more complicated to say. Why he speaks like this, however, is unknown. Recently it doesn't come out quite as much, though.

Dance Styles:

This performer specializes in Ballroom Dancing--all types. This category includes Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Cha Cha, Samba/Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive, Viennese Waltz, and Salsa. His absolute favorite is the Cha Cha.
He is also quite skilled in Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Bollywood, Broadway, etc., as he practices endlessly, and, admittedly, Dance is the only thing he's actually good at.
However, although he can decently perform other types, they are not his favorite and he will not perform them if he does not have to.

Education:

It has been said that Del never received a proper education, pulled out of school when he was five or six. He lacks an incredible amount of common knowledge, and he is also illiterate--he cannot read or write.

Financial Situation:

Del is dirt poor--he’ll even tell you that he is not in a good financial situation (this is why he fears lawyers so intensely). He makes fairly good money for a performer, however it does not seem that he gets to keep much of it at all, and is lucky if he ever has more than five dollars with him, even though it is apparent by his residence that he doesn't tend to buy things for himself.

Dashing:

Dashing is a wild Lombre that lives with Del. Del does not own him or keep him or generally interact with him, the Lombre simply livest there, for Del treats Dashing with whatever he likes (mainly computer privileges), in return for Dashing doing Del’s taxes and other financial things for him due to the fact that Del cannot read.

Family:

Del had a younger sister who died very young; she was four years younger than him His sister was four years younger than he, and he never really knew her. His mother is also deceased, but he's recently found out that his father is still alive and living in Slateport, Hoenn. Del spent most of his childhood being raised by his uncle on his father's side, and his son Flux. The mother had picked up and left the two when Flux was three.

Housing:

Del resides in a very tiny residence on the edge of town; one might call it a shack, but he's been able to fix it up recently into something a little nicer from the outside. It's one large room, and the majority of its contents are filled cardboard boxes shoved up against the edges; in the middle is a table with the legs sawed off, his beloved television, a rather comfortable chair, and Dashing's computer; a closet and the bathroom sit behind doors on the back wall.
